Ebb & Flow | Back to Basics!

Ebb & Flow | Getting Back to basics!

This week, we’ll explore familiar postures in a way that feels fresh and new. We’ll revisit these postures as if reconnecting with an old friend, approaching them with renewed curiosity. We’ll return to the basics, focusing on the core principles of our practice rather than complex details. This is a conscious shift away from unnecessary complexity toward a simpler, more direct approach. Our goal is to reconnect with the foundational elements that make up our yoga practice and the way we move our bodies. The classes will be accessible to all levels, offering challenges for experienced practitioners while supporting beginners with guidance. Modifications, challenges, and gentle hands-on adjustments will be provided throughout.

The term “ebb and flow” refers to a rhythmic cycle of movement, much like the tides. “Ebb” signifies the tide moving away from the shore, and “flow” refers to it returning. In our Vinyasa Flow classes, we will mirror this rhythm—starting slow and steady, building momentum, and then flowing back down. Expect a practice full of twists, turns, deep stretches, alignment focus, breathwork, and nourishing hands-on adjustments. All levels are welcome and encouraged, with modifications to ensure everyone can move at their own pace.

By moving “Back to Basics”, we are building strong foundations to succeed, thrive, and achieve what matters most, in a more effective, sustainable, and healthy way.

WORKSHOPS:

Upside Down and Inward (60 Minutes):

Inversions are some of the most fun and uplifting asanas we can practice in yoga. Did you know that even Uttanasana, or Forward Fold, is considered an inversion? Anyone can invert! The key to an inversion pose is simply having your head below your heart.

While inversions are a great way to explore and play with movement, they also offer something even deeper. The way we deal with our feelings on the mat is also the way we deal with life off the mat. Inversions provide a valuable opportunity to learn more about yourself, offering a quick path to understanding your breath, your focus, and your state of mind. When we go upside down, we must be completely focused, concentrating fully on what we are doing. The journey may be challenging and requires consistent effort, but it teaches patience and acceptance. It’s about accepting where your mind and body are in the moment, releasing expectations, and simply experiencing the practice. All levels are welcome and encouraged, with modifications to ensure everyone can move at their own pace.

YIN Yang | Partner Yoga Stretch Class (60 Minutes):

This practice is designed to be enjoyed with a friend, family member, romantic partner, or even someone you’ve just met. This workshop allows two people to use each other’s weight, support, balance, and resistance to deepen their yoga practice. Partners work together in creative poses that require trust, communication, and a sensitivity to each other’s needs and abilities. It’s a comforting, supportive, and healing experience.

No partner? No worries! We’ll pair you up with someone. Together, you’ll explore flexibility, relieve tension, and practice traction, decompression, and compression. This is a chance to balance your body and rejuvenate your mind. Take turns giving and receiving rhythmic massage, acupressure, and gentle assists to stretch your muscles while building trust and enhancing communication.
